Welcome to Freesized!
Freesized aims to help change perceptions about appearances and encourage a healthier society based on equality, diversity, individuality and positivity.
Body image issues are a huge threat to our society. Judgmentalism and bullying about body shape, weight, appearance and our experiences can affect confidence and self-esteem issues which stick for life. The portrayal of women in the media is getting slightly better but we still have a long way to go.
The Freesized mission is to help empower people to embrace the way they look and the way they eat, by listening to their own bodies and taking responsibility for their own health, without being swayed by the power of the media or diet industry.
Nobody has the right to tell you what to do, what to eat, or how to look. You own the copyright to your body, don't let anybody else infringe on it.
Freesized hopes to encourage positive perceptions of body image in the world to encourage a less judgemental environment for future generations, a world where health can present itself in any size, where a person covered in tattoos is as worthy of a job as a person in a suit, and where girls of 6 years old aren't terrified of being fat.
But it's not all heavy (no pun intended!). Freesized brings you food, recipes, yoga, real life interviews and stories and more. It's not just all confined to body image either: there's gender equality, feminism, diversity and inclusivity in society...and plenty more. It's a welcoming, open space for ideas to be shared between people - irrelevant of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, class or anything else - and stop discrimination in our society.
