Just a little update on what's happening and why I've been too busy to write proper blog posts or any more stories!
I have now finished the first draft of my screenplay and have left it in the hands of my mentor, Abby Chandler. Stokes Croft Writers have now finished reading it (although it was in chunks over a period of time), and my script group will be finishing it shortly. Once I've got comments back from everyone I will run over it again as many times as needed (hopefully not too many times!). It's been amazing how it's grown from my original idea, the characters almost taking off on their own accord! Izzy, the main character, and her mother Sue have quite a volatile relationship, yet they need each other, and I really feel as if I've shared their journey. I do sometimes feel like they are real people!
I'll be starting to think about what I can do with it when I've finished...it's going to take some balls people to want to make it as it might stir up a bit of fuss. It's set in the Tibetan region of the Himalayas and does feature the Tibetan 'issue' in it, which may people think is now over, but it's far from it. In fact it's getting worse - people are imprisoned for merely having a Tibetan flag or a picture of the Dalai Lama.

The writing group are flying high!
Christie was shortlisted for the Magic Oxygen Prize and took a trip to Lyme Regis to eat some very good soup at their book launch. With her she took Andy - our new group member! We like him. He has a beard. BEARD is good.
Our storytelling night (Talking Tales) is likely to be in April - date TBC. We have a fancy new logo thanks to Steph (left).
I'm Tweeting like a mo-fo at the moment trying to get SCW known in the social media world so please follows us - @SCWriting - thanks!
A new food blog
It's been in the making for a while, but it's nearly ready to go. I wanted a recipe blog, but I also wanted it to be a discussion about our food journeys and philosophies, but also with a body positive, activist edge...
So watch this space, it's coming soon!

Thanks for reading!
Stokes Croft Writers.
Get used to those three words, you'll be hearing a lot of them. With now 8 members, a Twitter account and a storytelling night on the way, we'll rule the world in no time. We've also got a fancy new logo - check it out on the website by clicking the 'Stokes Croft Writers' tab above.
We will soon be hosting our first night of story telling shenanigans called 'Talking Tales'. More details will be coming soon so get connected on Twitter and Facebook.
Before that, there will be 'Let me tell you a Story, Jack' - a great storytelling night at the Crofters Rights in Bristol. It's on Wednesday 11th March. I'm hoping to pluck up the courage to perform by then!
Hope to see you there!
